Terms of Service
1. Who we are
These terms apply to services provided by JM Performance of 14 Blackstaff Road, Kircubbin, Newtownards, County Down BT22 1AQ, and to your use of this website.
2. Quotes and booking
Prices quoted are for the vehicle and work described. If the vehicle turns out to differ from what was described, or a fault is found that makes the work unsafe, we will contact you before continuing. A quote is valid for 30 days.
3. Figures shown on this site
Power and torque figures produced by the registration checker are guide estimates based on typical results for that engine family. They are not a promise of a specific outcome. Actual results depend on fuel quality, mechanical condition, ambient conditions and any existing modifications. Confirmed figures are given after a diagnostic read.
4. Condition of your vehicle
You confirm that the vehicle is roadworthy, has been serviced in line with the manufacturer's schedule and has no known mechanical fault. We carry out a diagnostic health check before work begins, but that check cannot find every latent fault. We are not responsible for the failure of components that were already worn, damaged or at the end of their service life.
5. Your original file
Your original ECU file is read and archived before any change is made. We will write it back free of charge on request at any time.
6. Warranty and insurance — your responsibility
Modified engine software may invalidate a manufacturer's warranty. A remap is a modification and must be declared to your insurer. Failure to declare it may invalidate your policy. It is your responsibility to make both of these checks. We will provide written details of the work for your insurer on request.
7. Emissions equipment
We do not remove or disable diesel particulate filters, EGR systems or SCR/AdBlue systems on road-registered vehicles. Doing so is an MOT failure and an offence under the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986. We diagnose and repair these systems instead.
8. Our 30-day guarantee
If you are not happy with how the vehicle drives within 30 days of the work, bring it back. We will return it to the original file and refund the cost of the remap. This does not affect your statutory rights.
9. Liability
We carry out work with reasonable care and skill in line with the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Our liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the work, except for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud, where liability is not limited. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss such as loss of use or loss of earnings.
10. Cancellation
Bookings can be moved or cancelled free of charge with 24 hours' notice.
11. Use of this website
Content on this site is provided for general information. The vehicle database is a guide and may contain errors or omissions. Do not rely on it as the sole basis for a decision — ask us to confirm. All content, branding and the JM Performance logo remain our property.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Northern Ireland and subject to the jurisdiction of its courts.
